Democratic cup runneth over

Wow!  The speeches at the 2012 DNC have been amazing, right?  Michelle Obama, Sandra Fluke, Elizabeth Warren, and of course Bill Clinton were my most favorite parts of the convention, which thankfully, I was able to watch on C Span's YouTube Channel, as I am in bed by 10pm like a good little worker bee.  Amazing, factual, passionate, emotional appeals to elect Barack Obama to a second term surely would sway the densest conservative to the cause!  I had tears in my eyes more than once in the last two days, I can tell you.

But, it struck me today, in the midst of my DNC euphoria, why do we have the superior orators?  I watched most of the RNC coverage, and I found the RNC speeches forced, fake, often mean spirited, and calculated in each speech's obviousness that it was written FOR the speaker, not BY the speaker in each case.  Ann Romney's speech was the best of a bad bunch, gamely trying to connect with voters about gas and groceries while wearing a $2000 designer dress....yeah, she understands hardship.

Why has our gang, just plain outperformed the Republican speakers from Tampa?  Are the Dems just lucky, that we have so many dynamic and likeable personalities in the ranks, or is there a deeper, psychological reason?
BTW, the contrast of attendees between the RNC and the DNC is remarkable.  Look at the faces to see what I mean.
